Questions for Attendance/Symptons
EVERY event, practice, game etc., please have anyone attending a ZYFL activity go to the google question form found here.
This is different than the Zionsville Schools form/link so please use this specific link.
Each player/attendee to a ZYFL event should answer the following questions prior to attending any event conducted by ZYFL. If any of the questions are answered “YES,” then they MUST NOT attend the ZYFL event.
Question 1: SYMPTOMS
Have you, OR ANY PERSON IN YOUR HOME, had any of the following symptoms in the past 24 hours such as chills, fever of 100.4 or greater, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath (especially new onset or uncontrolled cough), diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, new loss of taste or smell, or new onset of severe headache (especially with fever)?
Question 2: PENDING TESTS IN THE HOUSEHOLD
Is there a symptomatic person in your household who has been tested for COVID and is currently waiting on the results?
Question 3: CLOSE CONTACTS
Have you been in close contact (within 6ft. for a TOTAL of 15 minutes in a 24 hour period) with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 14 days?
Any coach, player, parent, referee and or spectator who is sick, has a persistent cough, is running a temperature or is displaying any symptoms suggesting that the individual may be ill, (from any contagious malady, including cold, flu, or suspected corona virus) will be prohibited from attending practice or games.
Any coach or ZYFL Board Member who sees any adult attendee who displays any of these symptoms should be politely inquire and ask them to leave. A minor who is displaying any of these symptoms should be safely isolated until an adult responsible for the minor can remove the minor.
For any individual who has a positive COVID-19 test, ZYFL will work with that family regarding local health department guidelines on returning to ZYFL events.
The ZYFL Board will work with ZYFL Coaches on appropriate drills for practices and when it comes to competition the players will play football at regular contact levels for the grade level.
Coaches shall ensure and all players and coaches avoid “high fives,” handshakes, or other types of physical touching. Players needs to wear masks during non-activity time.
We understand that this may be difficult as players enjoy celebrating with their teammates but we need to be diligent at enforcing this protocol for health and safety of our players and their families.
This will be different for 2020. We need parents/coaches/players to help us pull off a successful game day experience for everyone. Fans will be required to wear face masks entering the game and will be reminded of our procedures so don’t be surprised.
We are suggesting that families limit the number of attendees to immediate household members.
We will stagger game times leaving time in between each game for fans to clear the field before we allow the next teams/fans to enter. Fans for the upcoming game must remain in their vehicles until 15 minutes prior to the game start time.
We will also control the movement of fans onto the field/stadium area and request fans maintain social distancing.
Fans will be directed to sit in clusters of four (4) and/or with their own households and to utilize designated bleacher and fence sections.
ZYFL will use discretion to make sure appropriate spacing and fan attendance is maintained.
Coaches and Players to Wear Masks
Coaches are required to wear appropriate face coverings during training sessions and games.
Players will be allowed to wear masks while practicing, but this will be a personal choice of the player’s parent of guardian. Player MUST wear a mask during non-activity time periods like individual or group instruction, timeouts and sideline participation. Basically, Players will wear a mask during all non-active time at practice and games.
All non-essential individuals will not be allowed to attend practice. Parents picking up players are required to wear appropriate face coverings and follow social distancing guidelines.
Water bottles and Hand Sanitizer
Players should bring their own water bottle and hand sanitizer for personal use. We are encouraging that during water breaks, players should use hand santizer.
Avoid “Shared” Equipment
Players should have their own mouthpiece, water bottle, towel, etc.
Reduce Players Touching
The handling of all training items, i.e., cones, flags, tackling dummies etc. should be limited to coaches.
Avoid Large Gatherings or Lines of Players
Coaches should avoid having players stand or assemble in lines or small groups. Coaches should alter their training methods to incorporate appropriate social distancing (maintaining 6’ distancing between players when providing instruction, etc.). It is recommended that player and referee benches be removed, and that players and referees provide their own individual seating to allow for 6’ separation.
Social Distancing and Increased Signage
ZYFL will post reminder signage wherever possible to remind all players, coaches and spectators to maintain social distancing.
The ZYFL Board will assign people to be physically present to monitor fields and facilities to politely but firmly ask any groups of parents or players to disperse and maintain appropriate distancing and that failure to do so risks the sanctioning and protection (including insurance) for the players and the club.
